Rome Destroyed?

Rome Destroyed?

According to St.Malachy’s prophecy, Pope Benedict XVI’s successor  will be Peter the Roman”, whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome.

The prophecy was first published in 1595 by Arnold de Wyon, a Benedictine historian, as part of his book Lignum Vitæ. Wyon attributed the list to Saint Malachy, the 12th‑century bishop of Armagh in Ireland. According to the traditional account, in 1139, Malachy was summoned to Rome by Pope Innocent II. While in Rome, Malachy purportedly experienced a vision of future popes, which he recorded as a sequence of cryptic phrases. This manuscript was then deposited in the Roman Archive, and thereafter forgotten about until its rediscovery in 1590.

The cryptic reference to Benedict’s successor goes like this:

“In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop]. Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations: and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people. The End.”

Our money was on Raymond Burke, the rabidly pro-life American featured in a previous blog post.

  1. Yes apparently the next pope is the last why do you think some of us do not denegrade the holy church of God he may not be too far away and we do not want to stand accused of blasphemy unlike some

  2. Seems legit, because every ancient prophecy that I can remember has turned out to be correct, innit?
