Spanish troubles photographed by Popicinio

Journalism is no longer possible in Spain as new laws ban photographing security forces.

Strange the media silence in Ireland and Britain over this. Here are some of the fines and results of the latest Spanish laws enacted this month.

1. Photographing or recording police – 600 to 30.000€ fine. 2. Peaceful disobedience to authority – 600 to 30.000€ fine. 3. Occupying banks as means of protest – 600 to 30.000€ fine. 4. Not formalizing a protest – 600 to 30.000€ fine. 5. For carrying out assemblies or meetings in public spaces – 100 to 600€ fine.

6. For impeding or stopping an eviction – 600 to 30.000€ fine.

7. For presence at an occupied space (not only social centers but also houses occupied by evicted families) – 100 to 600€ fine.

8. Police black lists for protesters, activists and alternative press have been legalized.

9. Meeting or gathering in front of Congress – 600 to 30.000€ fine.

10. Appealing the fines in court requires the payment of judicial costs, whose amount depends on the fine.

11. It allows random identity checks, allowing for racial profiling of immigrants and minorities.

12. Police can now carry out raids at their discretion, without the need for “order” to have been disrupted.

The arrests have already started to begin.

    1. Que te den por culo, se ve que no tienes ni la más mínima idea de lo que hablas.

      1. Brian Moloney: you are absolutely right!!

        1. This is true, but also there is a rise in the far right across Europe, Spain has its supporters too and there are those in power who are playing with the cornerstones of democracy as demonstrated by the laws that are being passed. Since Spain is only recently out of fascism, later then most others, some believe that has a strong trend to return to it. Personally I believe that Britain will get there first

  1. Uros Savicevic is this true? Massimiliano Moser what have your friends said about this?

  2. Its coming to all Europe you signed up and voted for it. Twice in some cases….. Enema Kenny would love this now.

    1. You do realise that there were other fascists other than Hitler, for example Franco, who ruled Spain from 1939 until his death in the 70’s

  3. Never left Ireland either, it exists on both sides of the extremist’s spectral divide. Nationalism, left or right is on the increase globally, like an expanding bubble consuming the energy and space of the moderates. ‘The Mandelbrot set’ in action. When it comes to humanity, Einstein’s definition of insanity comes to mind.

  4. It never left Spain, forced in with the support of Nazi Germany,Mussolini’s Italian Fascists and a sprinkle of Fine Gael’s very own blueshirt bastards

  5. It’s all true Liam. What I’ve seen so far with the Catalan Mossos is pretty hardcore. Pure fascist police state.

    1. Yes, it’s all true, it’s even worst than what you can see, read or hear in the media. I’m from Spain, I’ve seen that.

  6. Paul Rocks i think the usage of the term “returns” is incorrect. (not in spain any more, long story …)

    1. Yes they can. They can do what they did here during the privatising of bin collections, they just stagger the people going to prison, so everyone can get a visit. For those saying this is nationalism, this has nothing to do with nationalism, i’m an Irish nationalist, I don’t believe in a european central government, I believe that real democracy is achieved through small local governance, not massive super states with total control. So lay off the nationalists. This is fascism nothing else.

  7. Shocking. Well hopefully the EU won’t sit around and accept this. If they do, who knows where it will end!!

  8. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-06/while-brussels-burns-anti-austerity-riots-here-real-reason-europes-depression Riot police clashed with demonstrators in the Belgian capital of Brussels on Thursday amid a massive protest against government plans to reform the country’s welfare system. This comes on the heels of violent French, Italian, and Spanish youth protests in recent weeks as the citizens of the non-Germanic European Union decry the ‘austerity’ they have been crushed by. What is odd, though, is externally, there has been ‘no’ austerity with debt loads rising for all these nations and debt/GDP at record highs for most. So where is the disconnect between a people under increasing financial pressure and a sovereign issuing more and more debt at will? The Telegraph has the stunning answer: an audit, published this morning, found that £109 billion out of a total of £117 billion spent by the EU in 2013 was “affected by material error”. Brussels accounts have not been given the all clear for 19 years running. In other words, Brussels ’embezzles’ billions of euros per year, and blames it on austerity. Is it any wonder, Europe is burning?

  9. The Mossos are straight up Nazi bastards that wish the dictatorship never ended and point 11 and 12 happen all the time, law1 or no law.

  10. can you please provide links to sources about this? couldn’t find any other news about this so far.. thanks.

  11. Spain needs tourism in order to get everyone working again..if the streets and squares are full of protesters ..who is gonna wanna come ..no one travels to a country in trouble ..with there families for thier holiday’s?
