A few of us from this little parish of disgruntlement have been giving a dig out on the water charges front in Phibsborough. You can catch myself and Redmonk stepping up with the platters that matter up in Dalyer after the March on Saturday. Bring your smiley faces.

There’s a range of other folk on the line up too, running from screamy metal punk to Cabra’s dub master Enda Starr from Firehouse Skank. If music is not your thang, don’t worry – there’s also an information evening planned for upstairs in The Hut the Thursday after to look at the economics of this whole water resource grab.

Here’s the blurb for the event:

“We’re drawing on that fine Phibsborough tradition of musically mashing up di dance to lure out all the tribes in the area for a roof raising night of antics. All funds go towards the costs of running the local campaign: that means covering the costs of the banner and the printer debt.

On the line up we have everything from the garage punk strains of Sissy, post-punk of Alien She to epic metalpunk via Putrefaction. Lewis Kenny will also be gracing us with his presence as the poet laureate for the Bohs.

Pon selection duties across the night we’ve coaxed Enda Starr from the Firehouse Skank Soundsystem out of his layer in Cabra to feed us some roots vibrations. While rabble’s own Redmonk and Rashers Tierney will be reaching for a bag of tropical bangers and off kilter heat to keep the party jumping.

There are definitely more acts to be confirmed too. Just chalk this one down for the diaries now and full deets will come.

Also, as a super bonus round Conor McCabe is doing a workshop on the economics of Irish Water and the bail out later in the week on Thursday, March 26th upstairs in The Hut. That’s plenty off time to shake of the fear and get stuck in to defeat Irish Water.”

Full details of the talk and the post-March gig are over on Facebook. Door entry is 10e for the waged. 5e unwaged
