The Bug announced via his Facebook page earlier today that he was putting out a platter of Sleng Teng remixes on the Elektron label.

The two that have surfaced so far are characteristically Bug, the bare bones of the tracks are wrapped in a plastic bag and half suffocated in a bathtub of effects. Hard to decide if its genius or pure meh.  As an interesting counter point, Optimo’s JD Twitch has been running an imprint using the same reference set in direct homage to Wayne Smith’s original digi-dancehall weapon but to a rather different conclusion. The Killa P track even seems to hape the praise on a tried and trusted Bug classic.

So, if it were a clash – who nails the reversion of Wayne Smith’s original?
