Time for another round-up of some recent goings-on from Irish acts and labels. All streamable, and rakes of it downloadable….

DJ Q – ‘Trust Again’ (MAJOR GRAVE remix).

Dublin grime producer Major Grave has been on fire over the past year or so. His track ‘Like A G’ was featured on ‘Grime 2.0’, a quality compilation from the legendary Big Dada label. Soon after this he dropped the ‘Looking Forward EP’ on Slackk’s new label Sulk Records. Now his sick remix of ‘Trust Again’ by Dj Q and Louise Williams is gettin’ a vinyl release on Local Action. If this sorta thing is your cupán tay, then check out the Standard Crew (Major Grave, Bob, and Colz) who have a weekly show on Raidió Na Life 106.4FM.

GRAEME S – ‘Autofac’ (HSUAN RECORDS).

Irish label Hsuan Records are back with their 12th release, this time from label-boss Graeme S. The ‘Nothing EP’ features 2 originals from Graeme and remixes of those 2 tracks from Deejay Earl. Stream the juke/footwork belter ‘Autofac’ above, and click here for a free download.

SCOUT HARDCASTLE – ‘Masterkinder: Rainbows Of My Mind’ (BOY SCOUT AUDIO).

Another consistently deadly Irish label is Boy Scout Audio. Having previously released the likes of Herv, Meljoann, LionFX, Zoid, and Teishi-1, they’ve just dropped the debut Scout Hardcastle album, and feck me it’s class! Elements of synth-pop, r’n’b, funk, house, rave, and bass music make this a fairly unique release. Stream the album above, and check out the video for ‘Fetishes’ featuring Meljoann. Loadsa craic.

DEVIANT & NAIVE TED – ‘Last Chance Saloon (Bullet Club Theme)’.

One of the most ‘what the feck?!’ stories I’ve heard in a while is that Limerick-based hip-hop producer/dj Deviant & Naive Ted was commissioned to write the theme song to accompany a crew of Japanese superstar wrestlers as they make their entrance and walk to the ring. I know, feckin’ mad isn’t it! Well, he certainly provided them with a banger of a tune anyways. Rowdy gunshot-laden head-noddin’ boom-bap.

M.Y.C. – ‘Ghetto Blues’.

Speaking of Deviant, he produced on this brilliant project from M.Y.C. (Moyross Youth Crew). This 7-track release is the work of Nathan Keane and Calvin McNamara, along with a rake of guests, and it “consists of stories of growing up and all the trials and tribulations they face”. Fair play to all involved, and let’s hope this leads to big things for the crew!

LETHAL DIALECT & JACKKNIFE J – ‘School Dayz Are Over’.

As a teaser for the forthcoming album ‘1988’, rapper Lethal Dialect and producer Jackknife J have dropped another track from it, the epic ‘School Dayz Are Over’. This tune, along with last years absolute Summer anthem ’13 til Infinity’ are both free to download, and leave us well hyped for the release of ‘1988’.

JAMBO – ‘The Habitat’ (featuring WILLA LEE).

Jambo from Ath Cliath Records put out his ‘Intervention’ album late last year, and was joined by a rake of guests like Costello, Danny Rhymez, Lethal Dialect, and Willa Lee. Willa’s vocals certainly grab your attention on this one, the album opener ‘The Habitat’. Powerful stuff.

RICISHADE – ‘Product Of A Brooklyn Seed’.

Another new video now, this one from Dublin City Residents member Ricishade. This is the title track to his first solo EP which is available from the DCR bandcamp site. Both this release and DCR’s ‘Presence Of The Street’ album are downloadable on a ‘name-your-price’ buzz. Get stuck in.

THATBOYTIM – ‘Space Age Brothers EP’.

Takeover Recordings main-man Thatboytim just dropped a new EP on Tonekontrol Records. The ‘Space Age Brothers EP’ features original tracks from Tim and some tasty remixes making this a damn fine heavy acid/techno release. Stream it above, and buy it here.

RUN DMC – ‘My Adidas’ (SLIAB CUINCIU bootleg).

Wicklow producer Sliab Cuinciu put smiles on our faces with this cheeky little bootleg remix of the Run DMC classic ‘My Adidas’. Bit of a chirpy Summery vibe to this one. Catchy as feck, too. Plus it’s a free download, so, get on it.
