Back in May two French film makers started a Touscoprod project to raise dosh to cover the production of a documentary on the lack of access to abortion in Ireland.

Camille Hamet studied at the Sorbonne and in NYC before becoming a journalist, while Séréna Robin became a script writer after travelling. Their project has the working title of “Take The Boat” and with 158 backers it raised €10,080.

The pair are back on our shores now and looking for folks to talk to and follow:

“We are currently looking for Irish women that would agree on sharing their own personal experience of abortion but our main challenge is to find a woman that would agree to let us follow her while she’s in the process of seeking for an abortion in England. Anonymity could be granted but we don’t even know how to reach them to discuss it.”

“We’re already in touch with Senator Ivana Bacik, Doctors for Choice, the Abortion Support Network, the Irish Family Planning Association, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, Mary Stopes International, the National Women Council of Ireland, Termination For Medical Reasons and a few crisis pregnancy centers in Dublin.”

Keeping up to date on the project by giving their auld Facebook page a like. If you have a story to tell email them at taketheboat.themovie@gmail.com.
