RTÉ Piss Off Bishop.

Comedian Des Bishop took to social media this morning to complain about RTÉ censoring his material.

In the programme Des Bishop’s Election (available on the dreadful RTÉ Player) he takes a sideways look at Irish politics, joined by Blindboy Boatclub of the Rubberbandits.

He complained this morning that a joke referencing Denis O’Brien was cut by the RTÉ.

The Regime media has been sweating bullets over litigation since #Pantigate and, in fairness, censorship has always been a strong point of the Montrose mafia.

From the archives, an interesting piece from Indymedia (and the Sunday Business Post) examining some of the RTE’s self-censorship.

  1. In fact, as a non-resident, he doesn’t have to pay VAT on purchases (can get a refund) and as a business man his companies can offset it.

Obviously a question of scale, and it’s not worth the hassle for most things, but if he bought a new iPhone, for example, he would ask for a VAT receipt and would be perfectly entitled to claim it all back.
