Decided not to listen to Renton and head to Mullingar this weekend? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Due to Sweeney’s closing down soon it’s the second last FREE TECHNO party in the basement tonight, we highly recommend heading along. However, if Tengu is your destination tonight you are in for a treat, former Sides resident Pat Hyland is on the decks all night long.

Struggle & Emerge by Lakker In the summer of 2015, Lakker got involved in a conceptual project looking at the Dutch’s relationship with water. Working with the RE:VIVE Institute, they were locked into a limited but expansive set of material from The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. They also met a tonne of experts on the theme at hand. The above doc captures some of that process. There’s a website … Read More

We’re issuing a ruckus alert for this one: Kahn plays Dublin tonight, thanks to the Wriggle crew. Listen to some of his tracks above and get down to The Wiley Fox later on.

Friday shaping up well; two big parties with Mall Grab in The Grand Social and SNTS in Dive bar, and their event page is worth a look if you’re heading out. Hunee is back in Dublin again this weekend, you can hear him in Pygmalion.

Local collective Dip have their second night in Jigsaw (though hurry it’s nearly sold out), while local label Signal Code have a great line up in Tengu.

Droning On.

Members of some of Dublin’s most well regarded folk, punk and electronic bands have come together to air their latest musical outings this Saturday in The Hut, Phibsboro.

Two bands, both featuring members of well known Dublin groups, past and present, will be playing an intimate gig this Saturday, upstairs in The Hut at the Phibsboro crossroads.

Dowth, featuring ex-members of Melodica Deathship and Droppin’ Bombs, will be giving their usual healthy dose of fat bassy drones under the interweaving, trance-inducing melodies of fiddle and melodica, while Rue, which features two members of Lynched, will be joining them with their mix of harmonium drones, traditional Irish and American tunes and Appalachian murder ballads.

Check it out.

This entity caught one of their first shows a few year ago in London’s Whitechapel district and was cognitively torn asunder by the virtuoso drumming on display from the lad that used to hit the things in the sadly now defunct oddrock three-piece Shield Your Eyes (click on that name, do it…click on it). When Shitwife play, he is faced on the floor by the breakcore producer Ladyscraper, who is … Read More
